We have two grey minature schnauzers , one curly and one not !!! A friend who could not distinguish one from the other made up a ditty.
'Islay St Claire has short curly hair , the one they call Skye is as straight as a dye '
Can you see which is which ? (DH is going grey too , he's the distinquished one in the middle !!)
So as we are going away and staying in the van and in close confines with the mutts they have had a shampoo and bit of a trim today.
Beautiful and soft and shiny . So who's coat is it ? Islay ,Skye's,or Tony's !!?
None of them ................ it's Gotland lambswool and its soooooooo beautiful .
(I think the dogs look as though they need that fire lit !!)
I had ordered it months ago and waited especially until they were shearing the lambs and it arrived today so i just had to wash it too :)
I have never spun Gotland fleece, before tops yes but this bears no resemblance to that dry, rough ,boring grey top at all.
Tops/rovings are okay in their place but give me a quality fleece any day and this is quality in all its shiny grey hues.
I gather that grey is in again this autumn ? well of course it will be with me at least ;) Give me grey any day , life in the old dog yet ;)and I LOVE grey.

Beautiful fleece! Someone just gave me a bag of mohair fleece, all in pretty locks, but so far, I'm not sure what to do with it! I think I'll have fun this winter, figuring it out. :0)
Wow that Gotland looks very lovely...I am envious of you. How will you prepare it?
That looks lovely Anne, enjoy spinning it.
I really thought that it was the dogs hair! Its a lovely colour.
what lovely fleece. I'm looking forward to seeing you spin it up. I thought it was Tony's - LOL - only kidding ;)
what lovely spinning goodies you got from your parnter.
Beautiful locks! Ripe for the spinnin!
You had me going there for a minute...I know some schnauzers...but they don't have such beautiful shine to their locks!
Beautiful soft grey. That is a wonderful drying rack. Looks very convenient.
I've actually stopped dyeing my hair because I'm going grey! I Love that fleece, it looks beautiful.
The fleece you posted seems to be almost iridescent, I should like to see what it looks like when you've spun it.
What beautiful dogs, Anne. And love the pics of them 'guarding' the fleece. I've got an Islay too - our mischief maker!
Is that the road to Shell Island that you are walking on?
I agree with your. I love grey and wear it a lot. It is a very difficult colour to dye though :)
Love that colour - grey is magic as far as I'm concerned. Islay and Skye look so cute waiting for the fire! Hope you enjoyed your break and did some of that much required slowing down! Go easy my dear.
